Rates and Insurance

Insurance

Some services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. By using insurance you will receive a diagnosis, which is a requirement by most insurers to reimburse your provider for services rendered, and will become part of your medical record. Please check your coverage carefully for benefits and to inquire whether I am covered as an in-network provider. Some questions to ask your carrier may be:

  • Do I have mental health insurance benefits?

  • What is my deductible and has it been met?

  • Is this provider in-network for my insurance?

  • If not, do I have out-of-network benefits?

  • How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?

  • Does my plan cover telehealth visits?

  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session? What is my copay?

  • Must I have a mental health diagnosis to qualify for reimbursement?

Superbills

If I am not covered by your insurance you may want to inquire about a “superbill.” A superbill is an itemized receipt clients use to seek partial reimbursement form their insurance company for out-of-network services.

Clients pay the provider directly at the time of service, then submit the superbill to their insurer; any approved reimbursement is sent directly to the client.

Out-of-Pocket Rates

15-30 min consultation phone call/telehealth call FREE

53-60 min standard psychotherapy session $170

60-90 min intake session $200

60-90 min extended session $200

I reserve a reduced fee for current clients who have lost their insurance or an insurance change has resulted in me becoming an out-of-network provider. If you are in need of a reduced fee please don’t hesitate to ask. Occasionally I am able to offer a series of 3 pro bono sessions for clients in financial hardship. Please inquire if this would be helpful to you.

Payments: I accept cash, checks and all major credit cards.

Cancellation Policy:

Please notify me through email, text or phone 24 hours in advance to cancel or reschedule an appointment.

The first late cancellation/no show of an appointment is no charge. Subsequent late cancellations/no shows are subject to a $100 cancellation fee.

If I am able to reschedule your appointment within the same work week, there is no fee applied. If I have to cancel a session, there is never a fee.

Good Faith Estimate

Beginning January 1, 2022 the No Surprises Act was enacted which requires healthcare professionals to provide uninsured or self pay clients a “good faith estimate” for the cost of their health care prior to receiving services.

This will show the cost of items or services reasonably expected at the time of your service. If you receive a bill for more than $400 above the estimate, you can dispute the bill.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate or the dispute process, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (800) 368-1019.
